Attend a queer zine-making workshop with Rare Books and Special Collections Librarian Anne Goodfellow.
Zines, short for magazine or fanzine, are small DIY works of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via a copy machine. Historically created by counter cultures or marginalised groups, this format is a powerful way to share information and experiences directly with others.
This event invites Pride Culture Club participants to interact with Rare Books and Special Collections' queer archive to inspire your own zine. All creative materials will be provided, although attendees are encouraged to bring along their own materials if they wish. Registered attendees are invited to drop in and create throughout the time provided. Light refreshments will be served. Please note that this event may be photographed.
Please note: Spaces to this Pride Culture Club are limited to 30 particpants. Register early to avoid dissapointment.
Pride Culture Club is a bi-monthly social gathering of LGBTQIA+ staff, students, and allies who meet to share their passion for queer culture in all its forms, including art, film, music, and literature. A joint initiative of the University of Sydney Library and the Pride Network, Pride Culture Club is free to join, and participation is open to all staff and students. Join our mailing list to get involved and stay informed about upcoming events.
